o halo solar não é um arco-íris (formado por gotas de agua...) mas é formado por partículas de gelo que estão alinhadinhas todas na mesma direção.. ar muito estável lá em cima; por isso é raro...o gelo está lááá no cirrus que a gente nem vê..

fantastinen...The solar halo is not a rainbow (which is a refraction in water droplets..), but instead is due to ice particles all orientated in the same direction.. the air seems to be very stable up there: that`s why it is so rare... ice particles are up there whithin the cirrus clouds, invisible now..
