..Back to hundreds and hundreds of kms driving here at the ALTIPLANO, the huge fllat highlands in the center of South America..

A funny thing happened to me yestarday. I got LOST because of the gps (it was not only me, in the way back to my State other fellows had similar problems as well..). The database of our GPSs is awkwardly wrong here in this Goiás State: where it shows a road there is NOTHING, the roads that exists are shown in the wrong place or aren`t shown at all...

After coming and going, unable to find the same way I went in 16 days ago, I entered a small road that was supposed to be of tarmac but was dusty, rocky, bumpy and horrible in any way. The position showed in the gps was going farther and farther from the designed map.. Finally i found myself in a big, huge farmland landscape, driving in "carreadores", narrow trails for working trucks and tractors. Luckyly the terrain here was flat of recently harvested crops and I could see far.. But a sunny Sunday, hot and dry, and there was nobody to be seen around...

After a lot of coming and going into dead end after dead end, I reached a farm house of a working family, in the midlle of nothing. They took several minutes to come out and see who in the hell was vising them in a big sedan (perhaps a candidate politician? kk). Actually I went to the back door and started playing with the children and dogs there.. At last someone come out to try to help me find my way out of the huge landscape..

I am used to orientate in farmland, but this one was REALLY HUGE, as everything here...

Their friendly help didn`t help really much, as a half hour later I was lost again, everythyng so the same in all directions. And it was Sunday. Suddenly, a miracle: a fellow was operating a huge tractor in the distance, pilling dry material into an even bigger machine there. He stopped as he saw me cross the landscape in a car completely out of place here, and after a compreensible conference I was able to try my way again, with more coming and going and searching and looking after references..

I got nervous in the begining, for spending so much time in a stupid way, but soon started to laugh at it all, and had a pleasant and funny day lost in the dry and hot altiplano.. Enjoyed talking to this simple living people. but concerned:


This people is poor, they don`t live badly at all, but they are extremely uneducated and ignorant of anything out of their simple lives... Here in Brasil we are OBLIGED to vote, everybody has to go to vote in the elections, this people also.. And they always, always vote in the propaganda, that is, they vote in the LIE. They vote for the worse liers without knowing, and THIS IS THE REAL PROBLEM in my beautiful and great country..
